Post subject:  Clutch and rear main seal?

My clutch is about to take a dump. The rear main seal is leaking into the bell housing causing it to shake and slip. My question is what diameter clutch does a 82 dodge truck with a 225 and 833 overdrive use.
I would also like to ask if anyone has done a rear main seal swap while the engine was in their vehicle, If so is it easier to do it this way or should I jusy plan on pulling the engine.

The clutch for the truck and A-833 OD will be a 10" clutch. If they try to sell you a 9.25" clutch it wil fit on the flywheel but will be a "no-go"/not last too long...

You can swap the rear main with the engine in, you just need to be able to get the pan down far enough to remove that aluminum seal retainer from the block. Read the oil pan sealing article that Doug Dutra wrote. It is located HERE and it will save your bacon!

I follow it to the T every time I seal an oil pan.
