| Post subject: | Door hinge and hood rod roller replacement |
Anyone know where I can get replacement rollers for the hinges on my 65 dart? the hood has one side that the roller just skids along on and the passenger door has the same issue but makes an incredible noise and there is nothing that I can do to make it stop-even sprays etc. The later model hinges I've repaired rebushed and redone a few times but this model year has roller type spring ends. not sure if any of the guru's know of a place were you can get good replacement parts but you could try and find a parts car with the same stuff and see if you can buy it. it might be such a thing were you have to replace the entire part instead of getting just part of it. what all have you tried besides sprays also? |

The rollers have flat spots so there is no point in trying to get them to roll. I've tried graphite, lithium, plain grease and other spray lubricants and they all just get wiped off. I think there is a lot of pressure on these small points of contact. |
