i searched on the forum, but nothing came up. I know Clifford Performance has headers but is there any other companies that make headers for /6's that are less expensive than $359.00?

"Cheap" is not a wise or good criterion when picking exhaust system components. Headers are tricky enough to get working well without hassles (leaks, fit) when they cost a lot; when you shop for the bargain price, you are begging for exponentially more problems. Also, Clifford is an unreliable, unscrupulous vendor at best. You can build a much-better-than-stock exhaust system based around the stock exhaust manifold. If you want more, and you're driving on the street rather than racing, rather than headers consider Dutra Duals.

I found exhaust flanges on ebay.. but I dont know if they would even work. I could just make my own. I have a pipe bender and various flanges, adapters, etc. for making exhaust systems. I dont know. I just really dont want to invest a whole lot of money into my truck if I dont have to. Planning on running headers on my truck and then cutting a couple holes in the bed and running some stacks.

Flanges.. good idea?

Every once in a while truck headers pop up.

Keep an eye out on Craigslist or local want ads. I think Hooker and Clifford used to make them. Not sure what is still available.

Dutra Duals with a modified rear are a pretty good bet for daily drivers that don't travel far. Gives you carb heat, keep your heat riser etc..

Dual Dutra Duals do not maintain carb heat. So far I haven't noticed driveability issues with mine. I don't drive it in nasty weather though.
Clearance for the starter is a bit of an issue with the Dual Duals. A mini-starter is needed, and stick with 2" Head pipes unless you are willing to deal with installing the head pipes and the starter as a puzzle. Clearance on my 2-1/4" Head pipes is very tight.

The guy on Ebay that makes CNC cut header flanges does a great job, so you can make your own as you suggested. He also makes intake flanges if you go really hard core on us, like a few folks that will be coming out of the wood-work at the track this year.

Wicked/Six has a set of headers for sale, though I'm not sure what they will fit. Look in the for sale area, something will turn up.
