| Post subject: | Instrument Cluster-voltage regulator |
Where is the voltage regulator suppose to be on the instrument panel. I have a 67 barracuda, (with a slant), and have no guages. I bought the regulator thinking there would be a location? |

It,s located in the fuel gauge,there are articules here showing how to convert the gauge to take the regulator you have. |

According to THIS ARTICLE a 67 voltage regulator should be external (not inside the gauge). However, there is a picture of a 67 voltage regulator. You should have one wire from the sender for the temperature gauge (maybe violet), one wire from the sender for the gas gauge (maybe dark blue), and another wire which feeds both gauges. According to the wiring diagram the feed wire is black. It goes through the voltage regulator before the gauges - maybe you can follow it to find the regulator. Danny |

I found it. There are two resistor like coils and a some points inside the gas guage. And the shop manual says there should be an external one on the 67 but I am assuming since the cluster has never been out that chrysler used an older cluster at the beginning of 67. I have another 67 I am going to pull the dash and see if it is the same. I also saw an article making it solid state. Thanks |

My 68 barracuda gauge panel is just like yours,I converted mine 5 years ago.Pre 70 Barracudas are sort of an oddball,95% of things are the same as a Valient,but the other 5% will keep you scratching your head. |

Bigslant.....Any advice on the intake and carb on the slant. I have a weber carb off my D50 with a redline plate. Any suggestions? |

A two barrel is plenty for a stock slant,I don't know much about weber carbs,but be sure you can get repair and tuning parts for it and the kickdown linkage will work properly.Also find out what CFMs it,s rated at,if it worked good on a small 4cyl.,it might be too small. |

Look at the base of the Weber carb and tell us what kind of it is. Starts with Dxxx then 32/36 or 34/34, so on etc. It is good up to around 2.5L or so depending on Weber models. Cheers, Wizard |
