Went to the chassis dyno today with the new exhaust and turbo. (motor is all stock plus 340 valve spings)

Good news =296.61 rwhp vs a previous best of 259.01
381.49 rwtq vs. a previous best of 345.13

Bad news is I have an RPM related miss that stopped the motor at 4100rpm.

The squigly lines are the miss. The AFR settled in at about 10.5 for most of the run.

Looks like you're in great shape except for the miss. Might make 350 RWHP after you clear that up?

Hope we can get you to a Slant race one of these days...

Very nice, I'll have to post my dyno sheets. I may have to do something to make sure you don't MPH me. later

Nice numbers. :D

Does the miss seem electrical or fuel related? :?:

Seems electrical. the AFR on all of the pulls was very stable albeit rich but stable.

At WOT it was 10.5 to 11.0 from 2800 to the miss. It seemed like it would go away for a sec and then return. Ideal AFR for turbos is around 11.5:1

If you look on the bottom of the dyno sheet, the AFR is the lower line...not scaled good but you can see it is pretty even across the rpm range.

A friend is going to loan me a new MSD box for a quick try.

I checked the MSD coil and it had more resistance than the factory specs. Not sure what this does though. Primary 1.0 vs .7 spec and secondary 6.2 vs 4.5 spec.

Ryan, the old addage of 10hp=1mph (10hp @ flywheel)...this would put me to 110-112 in the qtr if I can get th engine to RPM.

What's your spark plug gap?

How did the plugs look? (did you "read" them after the pull?)
They all should be somewhat dark at 10 to 1 AF
You could have a lean cylinder causing the miss, is it a "wet" intake system?

This is a blow thru wet application. The plugs are a little dark and I know it is a little rich but would rather have it that way than lean since bad things happen on the lean side.

Ideally, I'd want the AFR at 11.5:1

It could be more criticle to index the plugs to avoid a possible blow out of the flame. I don't know yet.

All of the plus look like this:

After further investigation it may have been an over rich condition. I pulled some jet out of the back in it "seems" to have cleared up. I'm going to try the dyno again on Monday. While they are strapping the car down, I'm going to put in fresh plugs to eliminate that variable.

If everythings goes as planned I'm going to try and up the boost. Maybe I can get a 315/400 # from a stock slant if all goes well.

As the car sits now, it starts to roll the tires over at the top of first gear. :D

What plug did you get?

I ended up going with the Champion RN9YC. The one you have is 2 heat ranges colder. I decided to stay with what I had...no detonation issues.

I went to the track this morning. Conditions were good except for the 15 mph headwind.

Best pass:
60' 1.853
1/8 7.982 @ 93.39mph
1/4 12.32 @ 110.25mph
22psi of boost

I turned up the boost controller 1 turn and blew an intercooler hose off but got these #s
60' 1.89
1/8 7.982 @ 95.31
1/4 12.79 @ 87.04

1/8 mile was up 2mph over the best.

If the head wind wasn't there and with the boost up, I may have been able to kick out a high 11 on the skinny 215/75/14 tires.

This engine has taken a lot of abuse the last 2 years and it keeps on going!
