Who/where are the slant six records being kept, now that there is no more slant six racing news? How about start keeping 1/8 mile records, since there are a lot of 1/8 mile tracks? What about a revision to the weight breaks, seems lke there are a lot of cars/trucks over 3,200 lbs? |

How about a new tab right here on the home page for all Slant 6 racing Records. We are all here anyway. Rick |

Access to post to it needs to be controlled. We don't need to have folks posting to the thread. It would just make a big mess. Perhaps a link to a document from the Racing or SSRN areas on the Home page? CJ |

"Access to post to it needs to be controlled." Agreed. Perhaps just one moderator could be the official "keeper of records" and everyone could funnel the updates to him to be posted. I think I heard Charlie volunteer ?? Rick |

If there is no more SSRN, then there are no more records, right? |

Who said there is no more SSRN? Menko, Doc, and I are working on the next issue... I also agree they should be posted here with limited access. Lou |

I didn't state that properly. I meant a "paper" version. What do you think about a change of weight breaks?

I like the idea of increasing the number of weight breaks. For we of the fat car continuum, thank you! CJ |

My main issue with the current records was that you could not legally move a heavy car into a lighter class. So what if you set a 2500# record with a 3200# car? I know, it was a Jeffrey rule so Mike wouldn't hold multiple records with the blue car. The other minor issue was that some cars that hold records were never scaled for minimum weight. One thing you run into by making more classes is that it gets so watered down that the records are pretty much meaningless anyway. |

I don't advocate a whole bunch of new weight breaks, just one or two. There are many street type cars (and trucks), that weigh over 3,000 lbs. Take my Barracuda, for example. It weighs 3250, with me,. and has a 170 engine. Under the current clasification, it runs in "C" at "over 2,700 lbs. The low block engine would allow it to run a lower class, also (stay in "C", at a weight of 2350-2699). So my car actually is running at a 900 lb weight penalty. I do agree, a car should have to run the class (weight break) it actually fits ( a 2,700 lb car cannot set a record in "B" class) My Valiant can actually run in either "B" or "C". The car weighs exactly 2,500 lbs , so the weight of the driver can chage the class (break at 2699-2700). |

Nahhh, Think outside the box. When I do that (cross first) the other car usually wins. |
