What is the best way to remove the cables from a push button trans? Should I remove the cables at the trans (not sure how anymore) or should I remove the cables from the back of the shifter mechanism (which I have never messed with)? I am taking the engine and trans out as a unit and I am keeping the speedo cable in the trans. thanks... |

Remove the cables from the trans. Why are you not removeing the speedo cable? It is actually easier to remove, then the cables. Call me if you wish. |

Let me get back under there tonight and see what I can do. I found my old Valiant manual to see how the cable comes out of the trans. If I have any questions, I will call ya later. Thanks |

There is a little wire "clip" that holds the cable in the transmission, push the wire "just right" and the cable pops out. The FSM does a good job showing how it's done. DD
