hey all

on sunday i forked out the cash and got one of those new 4 bbl intakes from aussie speed ..

it looks nice and i post more stuff on the fourm

and at the presant i am running a 500 edelbrock on a cain 4BBL intake its quite short , on 230mm long from head to outer alloy edge . the new one is about 470 long

with very even runner lenght and VERY good casting . no clean up required at all ..

the cain inake has very uneven runners . and is a litte bit like a adaptor then a manifold .. so in the next few weeks i will fit it and reply if theres any questions i can answer please add to this thread ..

yours a happy sheep ..

Some "before and after" time slips would be cool. 8)

Black Sheep thanks for the post. I too have a hurricane and will be following this thread. You car/project sounds much farther along than mine, so I am looking foward to your feedback on fitment, carb orientation, tuning, divided plenum? etc. Thanks, Wayne.

I'm also looking at the 2bbl version of the Aussiespeed Hurrican intake manifold. Keep us posted on how your installation goes. One issue that may put me back is that in sizing up the width ( from the intake face that mounts to the head to the outside of the carb pad), is reported to be 460mm. I need to look closer but on this 83 Dodge truck that space is already occupied by the power brake booster / master cylinder. I believe I will be looking into what kind of a job it is to reposition the master brake cylinder.

hey back

heres a little more about my set up the car is a 69 valint sedan . 3.23-1 diff open center , 7" wide street tyres pipes up the best ive got is a 17.0 .

the motor is made up from a 60" oversized bottom end, mild head port job and a matched pinned intake to stop miss alingmet of the intake manifold and dubble springs ( 340 v8 stuff 901x )

the bottom end is blanced with a crank bolt and new rod bolts ,the oiling system is cleaned up with the stock pump lifted to 50-55 psi @ 2000rpm hot ,a basic baffed sump .

the sump was finned with 1/8x 1/2 wide flat bar . helps with the heat a little . i also did the timming cover to finnsh it off a little . i am now doing a trans pan and rocker cover just for the fun of it .

sarps come from a 6al and recurved dizzy to make the staic timming 15`btdc . and a stock heavy spirn shortened a little and a msd's silver spring .
the eixt side is a 2 1/2 hi flow exhaust . with 1 muffler and 12ft long hot dog oh and a set of ealy style pacemaker headders i think there 1 5/8 pri to 2 1/4 colectors . a 500edelbrock tops it off and the extreme k and n keeps the crap out ..

and the auto scored a 2000 rpm convetor and a lite shift kit .

so thats it .. for the ..

black sheep ...

Looks nice black sheep...did you make any provisions for some support?
I bought one as well (although there prices went way down after the fact....DOH!)
I was worried about cracking without support & was wondering if you did anything.

Stonethk, did you order through Aussie Speed or PP&R? Pentastar Parts still lists the Hurricane @ $465 Aussie. I know Ray was selling on E-bay, is that the price decrease you were talking about?

OK, so who's going to dyno test this manifold against the Offy and Clifford?

I would like to do some track testing... swap the Hyper-Pak for the Auzzy manifold to see if there is any difference.

Doc, if Stonethk won't let you borrow his, I would be glad to loan you mine for a while! My build is a long way away and I would love to see what this thing will do! Let me know!
