I just aquired a Slant six cam, new , but no box, or card. Miked the base circle, and lobe, subtracted, and multiplied by 1.5, got .519 lift. The cam is "purple, and has the numbers, 891496 on the back end of the cam. Mopar lists the Racer Brown ST21 (P3690768) at .520 lift and the MP284 (P4529343) at .528 lift. Anybody give me a positive ID based on this info. Both of these cams are in the range of error of my measuring method. Maybe even the MP 276-106 (P4286681) at .490 lift.

You might not get the right lift if it's a long duration cam due to lash ramps. I have put unknown cams into a block and used a dial indicator to find max lift and duration at 0.050" and other points.

I realize that, and I am not able to do it the correct way at this time, Jsut thought I would see if the numbers on the cam meant anything to anyone.

Bring it along this week. I have a block with a dial indicator set up on it right now. Cam is in it, but we can pull it or use another block.
