| Post subject: | torque converter bolts |
Just got a 87 dodge truck with a 225 and a automatic, but the bolts where all out of the flex plate into the torque converter, I replaced the flex plate, and got new bolts but I don't know if these bolts use lock washer or not. Can some one tell me if thay do or not, and what kind, and what these bolts get torque to. Thanks Petergun |

No washer. I generally use German torque on these. Gudentight. Realistically a plain 5/16-18 bolt is about 25 ft/lbs. General Tightening Torque Guide Also, a drop of blue thread locker on clean bolts going into clean holes will help keep them in place. |

The heads on the factory bolts are only about half the thickness of standard bolts. Be carefull the thicker heads don't hit the block. |
