| Post subject: | Replacement Radiators? |
Five years ago I replaced the radiator in my son's 1983 Ramcharger from a place called Radiator Express. We tried getting it repaired at the local radiator shop and that lasted a few months. So here we are again with a leaking radiator that needs to be replaced again. I see there are plastic tanks on the radiators and aluminum cores. Are those any good? I noticed while looking on the internet for radiators that the sites are eerily similar in style and content. I suspect it is all the same outfit hawking the same stuff. There were two radiator brands that surfaced Silla and Visteon (at least they had names!). Does anyone have any suggestions about where to get a replacement radiator? The original radiator was too far gone to repair (collisions caused bad fan damage to core). Help! bwhitejr |

Howdy! If it were me, I would try to find a decent radiator at a junkyard. I work at O'Reilly Auto Parts, and we sell radiators with a lifetime warranty. I can check on the price later today when I go into work. I live in Cypress, just outside of Houston city limits. |

I hate the plastic tanks because when they crack (and they always seem to) you're screwed......... So I've always preferred the copper/brass radiators because you can solder a seam/connector leak.................. |

I got one from these guys this spring delivered to my house in about a week. I found a $25 off coupon when searching on Google for replacement radiators at the time. |
