sorry I forgot to log in first.oil pressure is 45-50 after running about 15 min. oil starts leaking from pan gasket area.I put on crank evac. kit leak is alot less.so it tells me it is pressure in the block.leak get real bad if hold rpm for a while at 3,000.specs. on motor is 225 .040 over, hyperpac 10.0 comp. erson .510 282 dur. at 050 is 246 pan is modified to hold 8 qts. if you get pan to seal it blows out rear main seal.

What kind of "crank evac kit" did you install? Did you install it before or after this leak became apparent? And what does your crankcase ventilation system (PCV valve and hose routing, breather) look like?

the evac I'm running is from valve cover to exhaust. the car has dual exhaust so there is 2valves. I use these instead of pcv valve.leak was first then installed kit.I changed pan gasket and rear main.I would post a picture but not sure how to do that kind of stuff.I am not real good at all with computers

My guzzi car had a couple leaks untill i installed a pcv valve, doesnt leak a bit now, sucking crankcase pressure out is a good thing.I also have my stock breather with a hose going to the base of my air cleaner,I think the more pressure that gets sucked out the less chance it will push it out tru gaskets, works for me,Guzzi Mark

I'm still dubious about this crank evac kit...I've never owned a car even remotely fast enough to think about using one. Why not use a correctly-plumbed PCV instead — one breather, one PCV valve routed to intake manifold vacuum? Where exactly does the leak come from? Which side, which end, which corner? What exactly do you see...gasket bulges out from between pan and rail, or you just see oil dropping?

Are you completely certain the engine itself is definitely in sound condition? No holed or cracked pistons, no worn-out or unseated rings, no lined-up ring gaps, no worn valve guides, no blown head gasket?

tried running pcv set up like your talking about.leaked real bad out rear main.engine is real great shape compression in cylinders are 165-170.the leak is dripping from pan gasket area left and right side no bulges.thinking about running both evac valves to one hose then try pcv set up.

If it's leaking that badly you should review the Main Seal Installation and Oil Pan Sealing article. Chances are excellent that something was assembled wrong or poorly.

Did the side "L" tab seals get installed into the sides of the main seal cap??
See this article for photos and some other sealing tips.

Those evac systems work very well in a hot race motor with little vacume and lots of compression and exhaust scavenging. They dont work worth a hoot on a street motor.

On my big inch sbc bogger motor I run a header evac system and it works very well.....but it can also work on a pcv system at idle. The evac system is for WOT.

If this is a street car I would deal with whatever is pressurising your crankcase...then setup a good PCV system.

If this is a race motor deal with whatever is pressurising your crankcase and continue with the evac.
