I have a 62 D100 and it has been setting for about 12 yrs, the guy I bought it from got it running. I got it home and drove it around for a week or so and then it starter knocking near the firewall. It has only 44K miles on it. Please help. Thanks :?:

mine sat for 9 years, had to clean the lifters, replace bent pushrods due to varnish build up, then after part of a summer it started knocking really bad due to a spun rod bearing, there may be some mystery thing, but in all likelihood sitting that long probably took its toll on yours like it did on mine. good luck though!

Have you done ANY maint on it? I would pull the valve cover and check for bent/missing push rods. Do a valve adjustment and generally poke around. This may tell you what kind of shape your engine is in.
You may be able to run Dan's soup mix thru the engine.

Yes I have done some maint. on it. I have changed oil, oil in the bath breather changed the spark plugs. I also have done a compression check and there wasn't one cyl. below 95psi. Thanks for the help I check the rods and rockers next.
