Post subject:  Yeah, But can Hard-Block do this?

Hello,

I have come across a 170 Block that has at least one freeze plug blown out of it and There is also a crack at the bottom of the water jacket along the Drivers side of the block.

Can hard block Seal p this problem say if 1/4 Inch of it was used to Seal the bottom of the waterjacket.

It would be nice to have the 170 Block But It's not work it if it's just scrap due to the Crack.

Thanks,

Greg

I wouldnt even think about building a motor around a bad block, its like building a house on a sandy foundation, you would constantly be thinking about it and worrying,I would,,,,,,,take your time and find a better block,My Opinion,Guzzi Mark

Grind a V shaped grove into the crack, break out the old gas torch and fill the grove with brazing rod. Should work just fine, by that is just my opinion...

I have a 170 you can have but you'd have to pay shipping from MPLS/ST Paul.
