I just had my slant rebuilt, and I have been for the last week putting it together. I got everything done now, but I have ran into a problem with it not starting. The crankshaft turn, the starter turns, the carb is pumping fuel , but there is no fire to my plugs. I got 12 volts to my coil, I even took the coil wire that goes to the top of the distributor of the distributor and put a plug in the there and I got a nice spark. But when I take a wire off of one of the plugs in the head and put a plug in it I got no spark. I have replaced the rotor button twice now and it is a new distributor. It is a 1982 D 1-50. I have been stuck on this all day so any help would be nice. |

Have you converted to EI or HEI from the lean burn? Are you using a single pickup Electronic distributor? Where is the vacum advance pod "pointing" it should be towards the right or front of the engine. You may want to start over at TDC and set the distributor up again. Frank |

If I understood you correctly, you removed wire from a spark plug on the engine and put a spark plug in it that you held in the air. You need to ground the spark plug that you are holding so it can spark. |
