Good morning,

Just this past weekend got the new 225 (with long-tube headers and the 2x2bbl intake) fired up in my Dart, and I was impressed. With the open headers, it just sounds so angry. Shame I can't actually take it on the road until it gets piped up or the car gets new floorboards. Let me know what you think guys.

Pretty hot! Is that a modified Offy 2x1bbl or some other intake? And what carbs are those?

That is an Offy 5041 2x1bbl intake. It came to me from another member w/ the carb pads already cut out to take a pair of 2bbl Weber downdrafts. I picked up the 2 carbs(Holley-Weber progressives intended for a 1.6L Ford Escort) off of Ebay. I measured the bases of the carbs, and had a set of new carb pads made that fit the throttle bores and stud pattern for the carbs, then had the pads welded on. I also cut off the original rotating rod linkage mounts, since I've got a cable-operated throttle. The carbs feature electric chokes as well as idle control solenoids(no dieseling, ever). Linkage was a kit from the helpful people at Stovebolt engineering. Also in the works, an Offy Aluminum Valve cover, electronic distributor with GM HEI and as soon as I can get the adapters made, a nice oval air cleaner. Other notes: not sure who made the headers, they came on the rebuilt slant, with no markings on them, but they are long tube and the collectors dump just past the firewall. Starting is a snap, even cold(well, it's July, so not COLD cold), just hit the key and in under a second it'll rumble to life.
