when changing to an electric radiator fan,,what are folks using for an on-off temp switch for the fan?
found this at summit http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PRM-1 ... mage=large, looks like this mounts in a cup plug,, if so may not fit a slant, any suggestions?

thanks

I use the adjustable one on my truck........

Adjustable_Temp_Switch

Also wire it to drive a relay, not the direct load of the fan.

On your truck, mine is a 83 D-150,, where did you place the sensing bulb,
in the coolant in the radiator? or is this an external mount?
If in the radiator, did you braze in a fitting to receive the bulb?

for the fan / relay combo,, I got a fan and power control module from a 94 Caravan, with that I'll have separate relays for high / low speed fan, AC compressor relay interface...

thanks

Looks like the probe must slip inside the upper radiator hose, is my thought correct?
If so any problem getting it to seal?

The probe is external. It's next to the upper tank where the hose enters.

With an adjustable control, it doesn't have to be in the water as you can compensate for the slightly lower temp the probe sees...............

Yours. :D

The tension from the fins holds the probe in place. Mine has been in for 2 years now.

I used the rubber backed tube clamps

sort of like these: http://www.imperialinc.com/grp137.shtml

Clamps around the body and holds it in place.

Attach to angle bracket, fan shroud, whatever works for you.........
