I am wanting to put a 79 slant into a 61 truck. I have discovered that the crank and flywheels are different between the years. Will an 11" flywheel out of a 79 truck work with the 61 four speed and preessure plate?

Thanks,

Ziggy

If both flywheels are for the 11" clutch yes they interchange, but the 1979 crank lip is larger than the 1967-down version...so you will have a gap between the register and the inner bore of the flywheel. So you will need a 1960-1967 11" clutch flywheel...

If the truck has the smaller clutch then you'll be needing the standard flywheel for both cars and trucks. Other considerations that Dan may be able to clear up are what starter you have, if it's the direct drive model I think you'll need a different tooth count on the ring...
