hello. i would like to know if the 198 rods can be machined to fit cast crank. thanks, Andy.

I'm sure they could be, though you may be able to get the K-1 rods new in the appropriate width.

Another option would be after-market flat head ford V8 rods. That should be an appropriate big end width and length. Have to check the specs out. It's been a while since I looked into that.

Doctor Dodge has done this mod, but not sure motor is running yet.

K1 is making 7.005" rods for the cast crank, and Doc and I have ordered sets. They may have 1-2 extra sets.

i am glad to hear they (K1) are now making them for the cast cranks, however i already have a set of 198s on hand and am not going to build a super high revving engine so the oem rods should be fine. my forged crank engine is already at .060 over and don't want to go all the way to the .105 over til necessary. that way i can start with the .025 wisecos with the cast engines. i would be good with .085s if they have those available. thanks, Andy.
