I just picked up a 1963 Plymouth Valiant Signet200 with a 225 in it. I was given a second motor with the car that I will rebuild. I wanted to know if I should get into milling the head and doing over sized valves porting polishing and so on. I want to build a driver that gets good MPG and is reliable. I have read that the super six intake helps a lot with power. Any advice will help as this will be the first motor that I will be rebuilding myself and am new to slant six stuff. |

Welcome to the site! Use the search function on this site and look for "engine builds". You will find a section with several recipe's listed. Look for one called "torque and mileage". That section should provide a lot of good reading. Engine builds should be a sticky at the front of this index. So should the instructions for recurving a distributor! If you can't find it, let me know. Once you have read the various recipe's, the folks on this board will guide you along.
