Post subject: | Head ? |
I am building a drag/street motor using a 2806830-10 block and a 3698447-4 head because that is the head I have. I noticed on the exhaust valve pockets there is a small dimple. My question is what is this dimple for and also is this a good head to use for a performance build? I will be putting this motor in a 63 Valiant and looking to run 13's on the bottle. |

Air injection for emissions. I ported a head recently. I just smoothed it really nice. Stupid place to put it. I think it is bad for flow. In a mild motor it probably wouldn't be noticable. I think Slantzilla runs those style heads CRap! you said combustion chamber! ![]() |

After reading the article I believe I have a good head to start with. I am going to try to do all of the porting work myself and see what happens. If anyone has done there own work before I could use a little advice on how much to take off? I have seen pics of the pocket porting work and that will not be a problem I am somewhat nervous though about taking to much out of the ports. |

Caution! ![]() What's your goal here? A street strip engine will do fine with just cleaning things up. Trying to increase port volume isn't going to net gains where this engine lives, and you can make your head into a paper weight real quick! ![]() CJ |

There is no way to PM you. I took some pics of the head I did a couple of months ago. I can email them to anyone that wants them I have before and after pics. I think I can find them! I still haven't learned how to post here. |

I will post some pics of before and after when I am done. I hope I do not end up with a paper weight, I will do all of the work before I get it milled so I do not waste my money. |
