hey i have a clifford ram manifold with the short runners and i see recently that clifford has a replica of the chrysler hyper pak intake with the long runners available. would this intake make a big enought differance to wear i should spend the money and more important the time and energy rerouting all me throttle linkage and fuel lines. the intake i have now has the coolant running through it and seems to help when its hot as far as fuel mix.
what are your suggestions.

I thought clifford stopped making those awhile ago due to quality issues? They do pop up on ebay from time to time.

clifford has someone that is going to cast some when enough orders are made. i'm just tring to get the most power out of car. .502 lift 268 duration. cam 600cfm carb. i just want to know if its going to be worth the money and time to get the hyper. or should i use the money to get 1.6 ratio rockers.

I have run my car with both a Clifford Hyperpak and Offenhauser manifold both with a 350 Holley two barrel. My engine is set up to peak at a relatively low RPM and the Hyperpak seemed like it might be worth .05-.10 seconds in the quarter mile. Do you race your car or are you just looking for a seat of the pants feeling? The Hyperpak is not all that much fun in colder weather and it's hard to fit a decent sized air cleaner without cutting a hole in your hood. For all the money it costs the return is negligible. On the other hand when you open your hood a crowd always gathers!

1.6 rockers are about the same deal, the performance difference is hardly noticable and some have reported oiling problems in prolonged street use. On the other hand when you take off the valve cover they look really neat! Give us some idea of how your car performs now, how much it weighs including the driver, and what you would like to achieve. Often relatively low cost changes in ignition advance and air-fuel ratio can result in big gains. Depends on where you are starting from.

3000lb duster, my timing is maxed out 30degrees, my air fuel is dead on tuned with wide band o2 sensor and lap top. i have a huge hood scoop anyway and people always gather under the hood cause they think i have a built 340 by the sound and cant belive its a six and most people are disgusted that its a six. the 1.6 rockers i was going to get from clifford, they look like stock style rockers, and i have only talked to one guy that has them and says they are good. i have heard of oiling problems with the cox rollers. i've been told that with the 1.6 rocker my .502 lift would be bumped to about .532. i havnt really done any quarter mile racing. so looking for seat of the pants and the occational mustang on the highway i want to blow away.

From trial and error standpoint, it's hard to beat an offy for low end streetable grunt. The clifford intakes do pull nicely on the top end though.

yeah i could go with the aussie too, but i want to know if anyone thinks its worth the money and work to switch. will i have a signifacant gain to wear i'll be like WOW alright or would it just shave a few thousands off a 1/4 mile time. i'm not unhappy with my set up i'm just a man thats always tinkering and just want the most i can i have. i also was thinking maybe i could bolt on that aussiespeed ram adapter away from my intake toward the driver inner fender and pick up some power.

Look for a post by Doctor Dodge and the aussie intake. He tested the H-pak side by side with the aussie and gives a good report.
What I got out of it was, with some tuning it could be as good or better than the hyper pak. I have one on its way, I will let you know what I think.

I just thought I'd say that RAS rockers have a mixed opinion some have good luck and some didnt. I should have my aussie intake TODAY  . I cant understand why Clifford has such issues. Everyone likes their stuff they are really nice on the phone but too many have been burned buy those guys. Be careful D.T.2000.

thanks for the tip. yeah i got my headers from clifford and the short ram intake. i havnt really had any problems. found that their special header gasket isnt worth beans. i actually emailed them about the intake asking their tech people if the repo hyper pak would benifit me over the other short ram that i have and they told me no that it was more of like a nostolgic thing. Surprised that they didnt just tell me yes that i need the hyper pak intake b/c its almost 500 bucks.

i've decided i'm going to up my stall speed on my coverter to get launching closer to peak torque and then down the road get some 1.6 rockers.

While not on a slant six I have actually done some at the track same day same engine testing on Mopar engines with 1.5 and 1.6 rockers and even several years ago 1.7s (from a set we hand made in the shop.) Results are often not what one would think. In fact I have seen an engine slow down as much as 3 tenths with 1.6s over 1.5s.
I asked a famous cam grinder whom I got to know pretty well, once what was his opinion. He told me and I quote. "Don, Sometimes they help, sometimes they dont. You pretty well have to try it and see."
ME personally I think a cam should be designed for 1.6s. if not then we are more often than not screwing up an perfect setup. If there is one thing I have learned in 40 years of racing it is "More" is not automatically better but "right" always is.
