well, if you hold the module up with the wire connection part pointing straight up, (you will be looking straight at the pins) the very top pin (12 o clock) is the "hot" wire. It can connect to the wire that feeds the ballast resistor. ** make sure its the 12 volt feed to the ballast, check it with voltmeter with key in "run" position. Thie wire will most likely be blue (might have a stripe on it, white?) The next two wires going clockwise go to the distributor pickup. (2 and 5 o'clock position) The next pin of the "5 pin" module, (7 o'clock position) goes to the 5 ohm side of the dual ballast resistor. (called the Auxilliary side) Its called a "dual ballast" so if you dont have one, you need to get one. Locating the "slotted hole" of the dual ballast towards your right, it will attach to the wire lug in the top right position. The next and last pin (10 o'clock position), goes to the ignition coil on the negative side of the coil. By the way, I would make sure that you use a coil the is originally intended for a vehicle that was originally equipped with an electronic ignition, not sure but I believe the lean burn cars utlized a different coil that would not be compatible with the 5 pin module. |
