ok so i've got my slant 77% complete i've rebuilt the bottom end and now its time for the head.(engine background) its a .030 225 with the erson 270 cam and stock pistons. so now i need to figure out what to do with my cylinders head me and dad have done a good port and polish so far and this week the head is going to the machine shop, and the car is going to be like what i consider hot street/strip car so i know i need more compression and bigger valves. heres what i remember(want to make sure its right ain't been on here in a while)1.77 intake 1.44 exhaust valves with 3 angle valve grinds
but how much off the head i want to run about 9.5 to 1 but i don't want to worry bout my valves kissin my pistons if you know what i mean
thanks josh

Start by measuring how deep in the hole your pistons are at TDC. If stock it should be some where around .175 to .185. Then check your head volume in CC's. Run that through an on line calc. I think it 6 thou is 1cc but do a search.
Mill for the desired compression.
