Post subject: | Erson Cam check |
I finally got my Erson cam. When I ordered I asked for the RV 15 RDP. I thought I had better double check and make sure it is the one I wanted. It is part #E470000. Grind: RV 15 M. F212/295, lobe separation angle 108, overlap 42.00. Intake opens: 25.00, Exhaust closes: 17.00, Intake closes: 61.00,Exhaust opens: 53.00 Valve lift (int/exh) 0.435/0.442, duration (int/exh) 266/250. So is this the Dutra RV 15 RDP cam? Thanks in advance. Mike |

Yes, that is correct for the RV 15 with the old Mopar 244 exhaust lobe... Install that cam straight up and lash the intake at .018 and the exhaust at .022 to start. (cold) Buster (Twiggy) uses this cam and installed in the aluminum block, the lash is currently at .019 on intake and exhaust, when hot and running. Be sure the engine you put this cam into has at least a true 8.5 to 1 static compression ratio... 9 to 1 is better. The more I use this cam design, the more I like it for "performance street" applications. It is at that "edge" were the engines "manners" start to change from a mild, smooth runnig street engine... into a "choppy idle", high reving performance engine. DD |
