Hello, i just bought a d100 with a six in a row, and the front passanger rubber break hose was cracked so it failed inspection. I just replaced the hose, but now the pedal will hit the floor with poor stopping power, if i pump the breaks a couple times, then ill stop ok.. do i need to bleed the front break, if so how do i do this? any other suggestions? the year of the truck is 84, if that helps with front disc. thankyou |

ahhh! you need to stop driving it and bleed all 4 brakes properly. http://www.popularmechanics.com/automot ... 13448.html |

If you bleed the brakes correctly and the pedal still isn't firm, don't overlook the possibility that the MC has failed. I've seen that happen often when a MC travels much more than it has in many years. I presume any of the seals travel through a (corroded?) region they haven't seen for a long time and it damages the seals. For that reason, I usually just replace or rebuild everything in the system (with the possibility of the hard lines) if there's any question at all about its condition. I find it saves time, money, and effort in the long run to just do it all at once and I've never regretted it. Beware of Chinese-made copper washers that don't seal well because they're too thin. |
