Hello everyone. I've been lurking here for a few weeks. I had been looking for an early A-body for a while and recently bought a 63 Valiant in very nice shape:

I'm not much of a resto-guy and plan to hop it up a bit. While viewing this site I found this Turbo Dart. That was my car and I put that turbo on around 1995. The funny thing was that I was looking to do that to an ealry Valiant back then, but found the Dart first.

Anyway, that was a budget build in a borrowed garage, I even had to pay someone to weld the manifold for me. Still, the car went from high 19 second 1/4's to high 15's. The engine was a bone stock 225 with 195K on it. Not too bad at the time. I'm hoping for something a little nicer and a little faster this time out.

BTW, I just posted the wheels and tires from this car in the for sale section. They look great on the car, but it goes down the road like a '63 Plymouth ;) I bought a set of slots from USAJon on this site and some 14 x 4.5's and added 195 70 radials for the front. The car is much nicer to drive now.

I hope to have a proper website for the car in the next few weeks. More updates as they happen.

Thanks. The car only has 13,000 miles on it. Plain Jane stripper, 170, three on the tree, no radio, but it does have the optional heater.

The only issue it has is that the interior stinks! I've had it out for two weeks now, sitting in the back of my pickup with baking soda and charcoal. I'd hate to have to recover everything, but the back seat smells like an old man that drank too much beer and puked all over it.

There are no water stains or any area that looks like it was ever wet. No dead creatures, no chewed up cushions, no nothing. Oddly enough, the only thing I didn't take out is the headliner and that doesn't smell at all.

That car is beautiful! As far as the smell goes, I wonder if someone's Tom Cat got loose in the car. They have a way of leaving evidence of their handiwork. Had one get into a car I had and I finally had to take the carpet out and replace it to get the smell out.

I guess it's possible, but it really smells like stale beer and puke.

On the lighter side of the news, the mailman brought me a package today with my dog dishes. I only have the steel 14-inch rims up front, but I used MS Paint to see what she'll look like. I can't wait to get the rear wheels...

Love it! Great looking little car. 8) The 63 is the neatest body style in my opinion, but then again I'm biased.
