Even take it apart if I could.

I have a NOS distributor from Oldparts Northwest that I will be installing along with a HEI conversion, it was from a mid 70's Charger / slant six. Seemed to be a good choice for the D-150 I am working up. Question on the distributor,, it is definitely new,, and the center shaft turns but is really stiff,, since this is a "new 40 year old part",, do you recommend any maintenance / lubing be done on the distributor prior to install? thanks |

Probably no need to disassemble; a shot of light oil sprayed at each end of the main shaft plus the governor shaft under the rotor, then a few turns back and forth, ought to have it spinning easily. |
