I know the driver's-side exhaust manifold on the early A-bodies with 273 (like my '64 Dart) are unique for the tight clearance to the steering box, but what's the story on the passenger side? Is there any reason a later exhaust manifold can't be used on the right side?

Dan,

I do believe almost any of the non air-injection manifolds with the small center outlet will work for you. A search on car-part.com shows manifolds as late as '74 and includes A, B, and C bodies as well as pickups.

I had a 66 Valiant with a 318 from a 76 Volare. I used a right side 273 manifold, then swapped it out with the one that came with the 318 - it had a better working heat riser valve and fit was not an issue.
