I was able to get 7 passes in today. The weather was perfect.
11:53 AM 46.0 F 44 % 30.36 in
DA= -284

pass 1 = Aborted due to traction issues
Pass 2 = Aborted due to traction again
Pass 3 = 60foot =1.88
1/8=7.81
1/8=97.31
1/4=11.97
1/4=116.19
Traction was still an issue for pass 3.

Pass 4 = 60foot =1.90
1/8=7.74
1/8=97.84
1/4=11.88
1/4=116.98
Tried to leave a little harder on pass 4 with more boost at launch but still having traction issues at launch and top of 1st and 1-2 shift. Have to peddle it a little.

Pass 5 = 60foot =1.83
1/8=7.72
1/8=98.66
1/4=11.82
1/4=117.74 = new best mph
Pass 5, I added 3 more psi of boost to total and added 125 pounds of weight to the trunk. Race weight on this pass is 3460#. Still a little slippery mid track. Using the old DC Chassis calculator this calcs to 455FWHP.

Pass 6 = 60foot =1.79 new best on 215/75/14 radials
1/8=7.86
1/8=97.55
1/4=12.00
1/4=116.96
Pass 6 = I had mid track traction issues again. Even with the new 60 foot it was not enough to make up for the traction loss at mid track.

Pass 7 = 60foot =1.83
1/8=7.63
1/8=98.46
1/4=11.77 new best ET
1/4=116.29
Pass 7 = Added another 40 pounds to the trunk for a total race weight of 3500#. Everything through the 1/8 looks better than any previous run as well as the 1/4 et BUT the MPH is down a little (I know the weight will do that).

Hurt the motor. The 82k mile stock slant finally gave up the ghost. Still drove it home 45 miles but it has blow by like you would not believe. Runs on 5 cylinders like there is a hole in a piston or the ring lands finally collapsed under all of the boost. I went back and checked my AFR and it was right around 11.9:1 which is good. The engine made no funny noises. Oil pressure was 45-50 for the ride home.

I'll get some vids up in the next few days.

Nice runs! Were you at Lapeer again? Days like today are my favorite time to race. I am glad you nursed it home, bet you still had a smile on your face. Maybe some forged pistons for next year. Those stock slants can take quite a bit of abuse. Keep the faith!

Man, great results there. Not so surprising the motor let go. I guess you have a beefier one to put in there. I assume you are still running around 24 psi? What is total timing under full boost?

Will you give a try with some drag radials or slicks??

Congrats on your new fastest time!

Lou

I'm happy even though the engine is hurt. :D And yes, I was at Lapeer. EG, the fall is my favorite time at the track too. The ride with all of the fall colors was spectacular.

I do have a new engine that I'm working on now with wiseco slugs and K1 rods.....looks like for spring. This engine has given me 3 seasons of beating on......durable...hell yeah!! There was some major deonation before I got the fuel straight.

Total boost was at 28-29psi with 22* of timing. Still with a 9gph meth jet and 89 jets in the back. I don't remember what is in the front. I'd have to check my notes. I had 110 octane in the car too.

Pretty Awesome! You pushed ahead of me on the boost. Amazing what these slants can handle. Have you pulled your motor apart yet? Later

Nice job! was the extra 3 psi a felt difference or hardly at all?when you run that much boost if an increment doesn't, feel better than back it of. it means your engine is at its limit or F/A, timing is off. oh, well just an excuse to build a better motor.your car charges at the big end! my 60ft is1.63 and only slightly better et and less mph.every 10th on my 60ft made 3 tenths on the big end just think if you put some fat M/T radials on and left at full boost you might be in the tens or at least nocking on the door

I could not feel the extra 3 psi but it was showing up in the #s. Hard to tell to because I was adding weight to get the thing to hook as well. Then with the motor getting tired, it was hard to tell since the MPH dropped off.
