like has anyone run an X pipe with true duals headers or dutra duals? im thinken about fabbing a mustang x pipe when i run hookers true duals on my d150 opinions thanks! |

If you have a muffler of adequate capacity a proper Y-pipe and single exhaust makes just as much power, and costs and weighs less. X-pipes and H-pipes are really for V8s with uneven exhaust impulses. |

Should the y pipe be made in such a way as to equalize the lengths of pipe to make up for the offset in the headers. |

Personally I don't think it's worth the trouble, but can't back up this opinion with test data. Making the secondary pipe lengths equal would require more bends in the system which might wipe out any gains. With an early A-body things get crowded under the car, but with a pickup or other larger vehicle it's easier to package a more complicated exhaust system. |
