Here's one for the mystery books: Today I decided to take my '64' Valiant out for a spin. Before I got started, I noticed that the turn signal flasher was hanging down from under the dash by the two wires that connect it. So, I just stuck it back up under the dash, and, proceeded for my drive. On my return, about a block from my house, I started hearing a crackling sound, and, then came the smoke from under the dash. I pulled it into the drive, and, looked up under the dash, and, the insulation for one of the wires to the flasher had been melted away, and, the flasher was still hot! Any ideas? Help! This car is haunted! h.ahart@worldnet.att.net |

If the flasher wasn't inserted tight against the connector, the terminal was probably shorted by touching the dash sheet metal. There is a socket on the back of the ash tray housing to hold the flasher. lancer_41@excite.com |
