Age seems to lower them naturally ...

Are you lowering for handling, or for looks? Budget?

You can lower a little up front by adjusting the torsion bars, but you'll need an alignment after much drop, and you'll start to hit the rubber bumpers more often.

Knuckles with a drop built in are available, as are two-position rear spring hangers. The knuckles may require late-A upper control arms, balljoints, and brakes, too.

The rear is easy, just get some drop blocks. For the front you can get the drop spindles from either magnumforce.com or fatmanfab.com. Magnumforce also has a coilover conversion for the front but doesn't include the lower control arms. capautoproducts.com has the bolt on lowers that will do away with the torsion bars with no fabricating what so ever. But like slantvaliant said you can't go very far by cranking down the torsion bars before you're on the bump stop like I am now  I don't think you can even get two inches out of them :(

It helps if you trim the bump stops. Since it's closer to the pivot point, half an inch at the lower bump stop is a lot more travel at the wheel.

On one of his cars, Doug modified some lower control arms to relocate the bump stops, moving them down, thereby replacing some of the travel to compensate for lowering. It required cutting and welding, but I bet that would be WAY cheaper than new spindles. Maybe you can convince him to post a pic?

I would like to see those pics. I'm not sure I know Doug yet. I haven't been here very long. Thanks for the tip, I'll have to give it a shot.
