Has anything changed since the air cleaner last sat tightly on the carburetor? Maybe a different carburetor has been installed? Please show us some pics of the carburetor and the underside of the air cleaner so we can see if anything looks missing, broken, or otherwise out of whack. (And consider changing to a dry-type air cleaner. The oil bath cleaners are interesting artifacts, but the dry type works better and give you better fuel economy and spark plug life...not to mention the much easier, less messy maintenance!) |

was like that since i bought the van a couple years ago -first a 1920 that came on the van then a nos 1920 from you - i jumped to the conclusion there must be something wrong - and what happens when you assume!? -- well anyways i figured it out - all i had to do was open up the set ring really big and slip down over carb top - not let it rest on top ledge - duh - yes i really do want to switch to a "regular" filter type - something with some duct to hopefully get some cooler air than hot air up in the doghouse - and it doesnt have to be original - oo3 |
