Hey im interested in putting a rev limiter on my relatively stock motor for that awesome sound I'm guessing the easiest and most affordable method would be sourcing out an aftermarket module to go with the popular HEI conversion? Any insight would be greatly appreciated -Aaron |

???Do you mean the sound of the engine bouncing off the rev-limiter? If so, I wasn't aware that it was considered an "awesome" sound... Certainly isn't in racing circles, I would think. |

You can get that same sound by loosening your valve lash and revving the engine in neutral. It's called "valve float". |

This looks right http://www.jegs.com/i/MSD+Ignition/121/83645/10002/-1 The only thing is my engine probably can't even spool up to 5000rpm.. As far as practical uses are concerned this is pretty much in the interests of doing burnouts without blowing up my stock motor.. I believe i have a 1980 slant six in my 64'valiant and it should have cast rods and crank. I think the first logical step here is to get an HEI module working.. I have an old performance accel ignition setup from my Fiero that is HEI, I'm going to look into that. |

Most stock slants in good shape won't rev high enough under load to do themselves harm. The power simply falls off before the crank, rods or valve train have trouble. |

your right joshie, I don't even think they commonly make rev limiters that can be set below 5000 haha. Right now i have some serious issues with my 60's carter BBS so I'm looking into installing a two barrel on a modified single barrel manifold. I already started a thread under engines. thanks |
