Post subject:  Replacement wire harness?

Morning all!

I've been doing some electrical inspections on the 74 Scamp and noticed that the previous owners have really done a number on all the wiring (interior and exterior). I'm curious to know, is there a company that makes replacement wire harnesses like Painless or any other company?

Thank you very much for any help.

EDIT- Sorry my first searches didn't come up with much and than I searched again under "painless" and found a couple engine bay harness companies, but not dash wire harnesses.

I ran into what you ran into just this week. I tried making my own harness, thinking it's simple- I mean, it's just a couple circuits, right?

Don't try this! I think Dan or somebody posted something on here about a guy who makes them, and they are loads better than something you'd get at EZwire, etc.

You can get a dash harness for $599 from Year One. They only show the engine and forward light harness for V8 models though and it's $235.

Forget that overpriced "universal" junk from "painless" (hah  ) . Get the dash and interior wiring from a donor car if you won't/can't spend Year One money on a new one. Get a new engine wiring harness from Evans Wiring — beautiful quality at a very affordable price.

Thanks for the Evans Wiring link.

Joshie225- Thanks for the Year One info. I was just on their site and didn't even think to look for a wire harness.

This site if full of helpful people and I appreciate that. Thanks

Mr. Evens was very helpful when I resurrected my wiring harness last year. Although I did not fully replace my harness, he did supply several hard to find parts, and molded rubber connectors with the correct wire color. He dose nice work.
