how desirable is a truck crank? i have read that is was shot peened, making it better for a performance build. its in a 71 truck |

Don't worry about it... SL6 crankshafts are strong, even without shot peening. If you really want a strong crank, send it out and have it cryogeniclly treated. DD |

You can also have a crank shot-peened by a machine shop equipped to do so. |

Were they cold staightened as well? I remember seeing that somewhere. I have an early truck crank or at least I hope I do (have to tear down the engine). I know I will have to have it machined to fit the later torque converter. Is this added expense worthwhile or should I just use one of my other cranks? |
