are you saying on the cyl. head itself? I need to know the date of the block, I have replaced the head with a different onein the past. |

No, it's on the block itself, on the top surface of the block deck, usually directly below the frontmost spark plug. If you have a late-production block it may be below the rearmost spark plug. If you have a 1960 block, it may be on the rear or top of the water pump scroll area. |
