I am currently a proud owner of my first Slant6 or Dodge at all for that matter and joined the forum. Today I purchased a 1982 Van and was told that the engine was replaced with a rebuilt one from a car but they had to put an oil pan on to fit the truck.After looking where the engine stamp should be,(passenger side above first plug by tranny) it reads d256004.Can anyone help me by decoding this number?In my manual it shows different engine codes but not this one.Am I looking in the right spot if it was once used in a car?After reading and learning about these engines I think I found a new love and respect for the Slant-Thanks for having me |

Welcome on the board. Check the top of the block, facing the sky, directly below the frontmost spark plug. |
