Check out the Bosch blade at the bottom of the page. Part Number: W0133-1815477 http://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/1971/p ... blade.html Anyone ever tried these? I've always had a problem with my blades skipping and I figured this type works pretty well on newer vehicles so why not on my Duster? Just not sure if they'd fit or not. The site says they do but I never know with these websites. |

I've used those on my other junk(read Ford an such)and what can I say? Oh I know I'm out 20bucks apiece for blades that IMO aren't really any better then some others out there.They've lasted longer but still skip,streak and squeek after awhile just like the other less expensive ones.But hey they're on sale so give them a shot.

I've never had any luck with Bosch blades (I gave up trying them about a decade ago, so don't know what they presently offer)...or, for that matter, with the other super-high-dollar items. And certainly not PIAA's stuff, which is junk just like their lights and bulbs. Regular Anco blades work fine for me. I do like the new type of blade most of the companies offer, which has a single strip of curved spring steel behind the rubber element rather than a series of claws and arches. The new type seems to make better contact with the windshield and less noise over the long haul. |

I've gotten blades to last longer by: 1. Cleaning them every once in awhile then after cleaning 2. Lift them up, force the arm down toward the cowl a little, let the drop....... This counteracts the tendency of the 'set' when parked after the downward swipe of the arm............ (you're reversing the normal 'set') |

Here's a cheapo trick to force your wipers to wipe longer- clean them with rubbing alcohol and a rag. Just wet the rag and run it back and forth a few times across the blade. Cleans a bunch of gunk off and the blades work much better. |

I have found the brand dont really matter..the price does..It rains alot here (all year round) just change them twice a year..begining of summer and begining of winter works for me... The idea of cleaning you blades is right on..I do every time I clean my window...just a quick swipe of the rubber with the window cleaning device at the gas station... |

Wouldn't alcohol dry out the rubber? Yeah it seems like the only time they don't skip is when its practically a monsoon so theres plenty of lubrication to keep them from skipping. I'll try the suggestions. I think I'll try those Bosch blades out since they are relatively cheap. I'll let you guys know how they work out. |

I've never seen windshield cleaner attack wiper blades, it evaporates way too fast to really do any harm. An old Chrysler engineer who spend years on wipers told me in the late 80's that natural rubber was the best material they'd ever found for blades, except for longevity. Natural rubber is listed as alcohol tolerant for O-rings, so short of soaking the blades in alcohol it should be fine. There was a liquid product I've seen advertised to clean and renew old wiper blades, but I've not seen that for quite awhile. My favorite refills are "As Seen on TV!" triple-edge I got from Big Lots; usually ~$1/pair, they work well for 6-12mo around here (SE Virginia - little snow, hot summers, moderate ozone) before starting to crack and split. I replace them regularly. Beware that some assemblies that are listed by the manf. as fitting Mopars with hidden wipers don't - they're way too tall and wedge hard against the hood. I found that out the hard way on my '71 Satellite. |

Around here, we go months without rain. Wipers don't really wear out - they just get hard from the sun. "We get 18 inches of rain a year - and you ought to be here the day it comes!" |

yup I been in texas when it rains.....just stop the car till it stops bout all you can do..(and hope your tires are good)... if I had to rule any blades out they would be Bosch..but if they are cheap..the rest of the money can go for parts
