Post subject:  Rocker Arm Adjustment Screws?

I have just recently put my '68 Dart back on the road with a rebuilt super six !! Sadly however, the valve lash keeps going out of adjustment- and getting noisy. I have had to re-set it twice in less than a thousand miles.
Upon re-setting it, the valve train is very quiet and nice. My machine shop people are looking for a valve lash adjustment screw that has a locking mechanism. Where can I get locking valve lash adjust screws?
Any help out there would be great. thx-

Mancini Racing has them.

You might try rocker arm shims instead. They have those too.

If you just want locks got to a machine shop and buy 3/8 NF half nuts.

2 whole sets cost me less than $15 with shipping.

Yes, the screws are the same as the ones used on machanical 273 engines.
Do the adjuster screws feel loose?

Maybe a good whack with a hammer to the loose offending Rockers will "keep" the adjusters tight too. I had this problem one time but It was due to using a stock cam on a head with .100" milled off. - I just Shimmed the rocker up a bit and I got the locking action back on the adjuster screws.

I dont use the Half nuts anymore. I went and purchased the correct length pushrods from Smith Bros and never had one come loose again.

Have you decked or milled?

Something to check are the balls and sockets on the push rods and the screws. When my valve lash adjustment won't hold, I have found that one or the other or both are wearing. It seems that once they start to wear, it proceeds rapidly and one will damage the other. Rather than trying to lock down the adjustment, inspect the parts for wear and damage.

OK. It took nearly a week for these parts to ship from florida to ariz.
Evidently this MP part is now discontinued ?

The new adjust screws are now installed into my valvetrain, so we'll see what happens.
