Been planning this for a while finally got it done, moved the battery to the right side front bed. Do believe the left front fender is setting a 1/8 inch higher. no real performance gains, but it does seem that with the battery, driver, gas tank all on the left side, moving the battery to the right side could balance things out. 1) used the original battery base as the mounting platform 2) battery box is from Remy, that's a group 65 battery, a big one 3) a Wirthco blade disconnect is in place to settle things down while in storage 4) ran the positive cable along the inside of the right side frame rail. Used rubber coated supports, 5) ran a 0-1 cable from the battery to a "power terminal". from that branched off to the existing cables... starter, cab power... ran the battery ground to the right side frame rail, connected the engine ground also to the right side frame rail. before this change has 14.38 V at the battery at 1500 RPM,, now have 14.3,, appears to have close to the original electrical balance photos http://www.flickr.com/photos/13718356@N ... 746533103/ |

That looks nice. My fastback came with the battery in the trunk. The only thing is they installed it on the driver's side. I like it on the passenger's side like you have it for better weight distribution. I disconnect it when the car is parked to make theft more difficult. I like your knife switch: heavy duty. |
