been to 3 local parts suppliers, at each, the filter in the filter / pan gasket set is different from the filter removed from this 68 Barracuda,
the three mounting holes line up, the original filter has two formed pick up holes,, the replacement filters all have one. Interesting the kits all have two gaskets, one of which matches the pan on mine.

Do you use this filter as is, or what?

That's in a '68? Does the trans have a slip-yoke on the output or a flange?

The old filter has two suction holes; one to feed the front pump and the other to feed the rear pump. Thing is a '68 shouldn't have a rear pump. Are there two suction holes in the valve body?

upon further review,,, the valve body on has one hole,, lines up with the one hole in the purchased filter,,

somewhere along the line the wrong filter was put in?

thanks for you help here!

Yeah, somehow a filter for an early trans got in there. You should be good to go.

do you have any idea the application for the second pan gasket that is in the kit

my pan took the one with the angle on one corner

the extra gasket has a minor kick out on one corner
