This is the 2nd '80s truck this has happened on;On the 1st one I just "dealt with" and held the t/s lever for a left turn; (81 W150)

now this one's doing teh same also to the left; are the little t/s switch springs and cancel cam still available as sepetate pieces? The switch still works fine electrically.

The turn signal switches were (and are) serviced as an assembly; subcomponents are not available. You will need to replace the switch (or find good used ones of the subcomponents you're after and put your switch back together).

A new turn signal switch should be reasonably easy and inexpensive to get for your '80s trucks.

Before you do anything, check out the dealer for parts like this.

I've got a 1970 ford f-250 that needed a turn switch a few years ago.

The dealer was about half as much as LMC truck wanted at the time and was about the same as used parts were going for on Epay with shipping.

I just bought the whole enchilada from Napa for pretty cheap. Why not just change it out?

yeah thats teh way I have usually dealt with TS switches; but I remember seeing such parts in thye "HELP!" aisle before. and I believe I've even gotten them from "regular" parts stores and not had to go to the dealer.
But in these days of the "global" BS since mine still works great electrically just mechanically I gotta hold it down when I want to signal left. I'd rather take a chance on my 27 year old original lasting however long I have the truck; vs buying a new switch, that will probably come from China.

They still sell the Help! parts; saw them yesterday. They have them here at the auto zone for like 4 bucks. And they look like cheap Chinese junk.

So buy a real brand instead of the "Help!" brand. They _can_ still be had.
