How important is the MHCV? Mine has been stuck for who knows how long. I've Kroiled it for a few days now, and it does move, but only manually; it's too rusty to move via the heat spring. Any insight?

Unless you expect to see any temps for weeks under 50 degrees, you can wire it open or remove it. For those of us in the seasonal climate range it's good to have.

Based on this, I'm gonna find me some of that solvent and see if it frees up.
