Post subject:  Mopar Electronic Ignition

Hi, I just bought a electronic ignition distributor from Titan ( a member here and on FABO) for my SL6. I has a few questions:

- Where can I get the actual harness or plug for the ignition module?
- Besides the distributor, module and wiring, that's all I need right?

Any tips or pointers is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys! :D

Napa has a connector, but it's uber expensive. ECH TPC51. $68 and some change. Yikes!

You should be able to get the conector off of any Chrysler product with some version of electronic ignition prior to distributorless ignition systems. Even the lean burn equipped vehicles have the right connector on one side of the distributor.

Thanks Reed!

You will also need a ballast resistor.

If you have a 5 pin ECU you will need a dual ballast resistor
http://www.chicagoconnection.us/index.p ... ts_id=1186

And if you have a 4 pin ECU you will need a 2 pin ballast
For production coils
http://www.chicagoconnection.us/index.p ... ts_id=1188

and for performance coils

The wiring harness you can get it at junkyards easy, if not

The price for the Mopar Perf. unit is USD 22.- not as expensive as the NAPA unit ...

Hope it helps!

You can use female bullet connectors, you will just need one per wire. They fit well over the male pins on the module.

If you are going to wire it with separate connectors, be careful of the orientation of things - the diagrams usually specify whether they are showing you the view looking into the harness plug or into the module socket.

Thanks, I plan on just purchasing the plug for 20 odd bucks. Thanks for the hook up! :D

Too right! I thought that the info Martin dug up was too good to slowly float to the bottom of the pile. Thanks David.
