I have found a heated backglass for my '73 Dart, but it's several provinces away. The yard is happy to pull and ship it, but I hesitate because I don't know how a big curved piece of glass like that can be safely shipped without costing a fortune. Anyone got any suggestions? |

Ditto. Unless the yard is willing to build you a fairly skookum crate and pack it well.

If you can get them to wrap it in a garbage bag, put it in a box, then surround it with some of that expandable foam you can buy in a can it will likely survive just about anything a shipper will throw at it. |

Do you have Greyhound up-- north? I have successfully packed/shipped back glass from a 62 valiant through them from kansas to arizona. Lawrence |

A backglass is tempered and fairly tough. Most auto glass shops will have used glass crates/boxes that they just throw away. With some careful packing and support it should survive the trip. I'd get insurance on though, just in case. Unless you have something equivalent to Greyhound the shipping is likely to be as much as the glass. |

Good suggestions, thanks. I'll look into Greyhound and see how cooperative the yard will really be on this. I'm guessing they'll probably go to some effort to pack and ship safely if it is made worth their while. As for insurance: on the one hand, I don't want an insurance cheque, I want an unbroken piece of glass. On the other hand, I think the real purpose of the insurance label on the package is to alert the carrier to treat that package with care. |

Not till monday..... Seriously ....We will probably be going throught there on the way to see our lawyer for depositions in Cut Bank Mt on Monday. It is unlikely I could do much for you as we will be in the Talon which is small.....and I dont want to take yer window to America...... Is the glass from Marshalls? If so they are real pros. Ask them how they want to ship it. The Bus is pretty good.....on the Western end. |
