| Post subject: | Temp Gauge |
My temp gauge moves up to the first line, then stays there. But the gauge looks like it should be in the middle of the range, where there is another line with a thicker base. All of you with the Dart dash should know what I'm describing. Is my gauge fine, or do you think by thermostat is bad, or is the temp sending unit bad, or should I just not worry about it? |

Test the thermostat. Might be stuck open or wrong temp. Stock thermostat for a 63 is 180. |

alot of the older coolant temp sending units were calibrated to read about "1/3 scale" as "normal" try a different one, will probably make it read different; every time I've had cause to replace one (usually when they get damaged/smashed doing other work, some times "just because" I have the thing out) the gauge reads higher with the new sending unit than the old original one. |
