Was wondering how advantages is it to clock my 4bbl carb 90degs,so the primaries are facing the head ? Any info appreciated. Also whats a good place to get the longer acc cable,which will be needed ? Part # ? |

I like my Holley 390 on an Offy intake with the primaries to the driver's side away from the head! |

Ohh-Boy....Now I'm really confused. lol Anyone else with some experience/opinion on this ? This is with a Clifford intake/headers,Ede 500... |

A lot of people orient the carb with the primaries forward as it makes the transmission throttle pressure linkage easier. I like mine oriented for best mixture distribution and I have a manual trans. My plugs are very evenly colored with the primaries to the left. When I ran a Holley on an unheated Clifford intake with the primaries to the left the end cylinders (1 and 6) appeared to be richer than the others. My next slant will have a Clifford intake so I will try the primaries to the right and see what the plugs tell me. |
