So I just installed my 14" valiant wheels and some big snow tires and I'm curious as to what the draw backs would be on a stock 64' valiant suspension with extended shackle brackets ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MOPAR-A- ... 3aUSQ3a102) and cranked out torsion bars concerning bump steer, alignment deflection, etc during cornering..

I'm looking to get 3" on the rear and around 2" on the front with just bolt ons.. The only mod that I will face are extended brake lines to the rear I'd imagine. I'm not to worried about increased body roll since i just like cruising and i live on a mountain road that almost requires a 4x4.

If anyone has done anything like this please let me know :)

It has literally been 40 years, but I put some very similar pieces on the 62 Valiant that I owned at the time. It did lift the body some, and I liked the stance, but what I found was that the springs flatten out and I only got about half the lift I was expecting. Personally I wouldn't do it again. Another concern is your pinion angle; you might well get some vibration and possibly shortened U-Joint life with a 3" lift.

Lifting the front presents other problems. First, your front suspension is likely to get very stiff; your ride quality will suffer. Second, your steering geometry will be significantly altered and you are likely to experience bump steer ( as you mentioned ), accelerated wear on the tie rod ends, and imprecise handling. Finally, you might have to switch to the Moog offset ( problem solver ) bushings in the front end to bring your camber to spec.

*EDIT* I forgot to mention that you may also exceed the travel limits of your shocks under certain conditions... a rough road being among them.

I live in the snowy mountains as well.

Lower the car if you want better snow control.
